Lighting as Form
Lighting is not just illumination; it is a physical material you can mold to change the architecture of a room.
The Death of the Big Light
Turn off the central overhead light. It flattens textures, removes shadows, and sanitizes the mood. Avant-garde spaces rely on peripheral, low-level illumination. By placing light sources near the floor or hidden behind architectural features, you allow the room's upper atmosphere to remain dark, mysterious, and expansive.
Neon and LED Intervention
In our 'Neon Slate' palette, light is the primary source of the lime accent. Strips of LED grazing a textured wall, or a solitary, sharp neon tube intersecting a corner, act as modern art installations. They provide high-tech contrast to raw, brutalist materials.
